We’ve been following the Windows Mobile 7 story with seductiveness for a while, along with each alternative mobile phone air blower we imagine, even going so far as to give the oft-delayed OS an endowment for the tardiness at afterwards finish of 2009. The final we heard, there was a possibility we would see Microsoft’s subsequent incarnation of the mobile OS at MWC, a gossip that has not usually gained momentum, but a couple of some-more engaging possibilities too.
What will be suggested at Mobile World Congress is expected to be the user interface of the subsequent Windows Phone, assumingly codenamed ‘Metro’. It will be closely associated to the Zune HD interface, to the indicate where the Zune song player will be integrated and used for Personal Computer syncing, and have await for Xbox gamer tags, friends and avatars – all of that brings the Microsoft family closer together in the same approach as both Apple did with the iPod and Sony Ericsson have not long ago finished with the Aino.
What Metro won’t have is Flash, multi-tasking, retrograde harmony for applications or the event for manufacturers to insert their own UI over the top. Again, this close down seems extremely familiar. While the miss of a Sense UI-style conceal will not make a difference if Windows Phone’s own UI has been softened in the approach they’re observant – clean, soulful and alive have been the quoted terms, whatever they meant in propinquity to a mobile phone – the removal of both Flash and multi-tasking radically removes dual of the prior offered points over the competitors!
We’ve got a week until Mobile World Congress kicks off and given the gossip says it will usually be the UI we’ll see, we creed it’s going to be in video form, creation any correct comment of Windows Phone 7 roughly as suppositional as the on top of details. Perhaps we’ll be astounded and they’ll bucket it onto an HD2 for us all to have a try, but we won’t reason the breath!
